About Widefido
Widefido is a tiny, one-man software shop with a big aspiration: create software that makes a difference. With its mantra Simply Simple Software, Widefido focuses hard work, dedication, and attention to detail into simple, easy to use software.
Who is behind Widefido?
Widefido is located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and is run by Jordan Sherer (me). I have always been fascinated by all things related to computers and took interest in programming at a young age. After developing software for many years, I decided to start Widefido. My goal with Widefido is to create simple, effective software to solve real problems for real people.
Small > Big
Widefido aims to be small. Small is beautiful. By being small, Widefido is forced to focus on what matters most. Small has a lot of advantages too, such as:

Speed and Flexibility
In football, you generally don't see a lineman sprinting down the field to catch the "Hail-Mary" pass. In business, the same is true for large corporations, which tend to move extremely slow. The smaller you are in business, the faster you can make decisions and change direction. Widefido is the running-back of business—the football player who is always headed towards the goal-line ready to deliver a winning touchdown.

Better communication with customers
By being small, I believe businesses can create stronger relationships with their customers. I love hearing from my customers. When I become to understand their problems, I can start to develop unique solutions. I think Josh Clark from Global Moxie says this best:
"Dealing directly with the artisan means knowledgable service from someone who cares about his/her product."
Three rules of Software
Widefido believes there are three very valuable rules to software.
- Software should be simple and easy to use.
Complex software causes frustrations, and as far as I know, we all have enough frustrations to deal with. Widefido believes that software should never cause a customer pain.

Software should be focused
Software should have and focus on a purpose. Focused software helps create an enjoyable experience for the customer. Widefido develops software that is "focused and feature-thin", meaning that it isn't bloated with "one-off" features.
- Software should provide value
Software should provide value to the customer by targeting and solving a specific problem set. Software which solves a problem makes a difference in the life of the customer. This is the ultimate goal.
Colophon
The Widefido website is built with standards compliant HTML and CSS. It is served with a custom Python engine, on top of Apache Server.
I use TextMate for text editing and Cyberduck for file transfers.
